One of the diets that is gaining momentum lately is The Cookie Diet. This diet has you replace what you would normally eat during the day before dinner (breakfast, lunch and snacks) with six cookies. Now you only eat one cookie at a time and you eat one whenever you feel hungry or at least eat one every couple of hours. The cookies are only about 100 calories each so by the time you sit down to a modest dinner, you have only consumed about 600 calories. In essence this is just a low calorie diet. The cookies claim is that they contain certain amino acids that curb your hunger so having only 600 calories is more doable as a diet than it would be if you didn’t ingest these amino acids.

But does it really work? Well the trick is to stay with this diet. Low calorie diets work during the short term but they can be hard to stick with for the long term. Plus eating cookies all day long can get boring. Instead think about a more balanced diet with more protein in it. (See my Chocolate Lovers Diet) If you take in one high protein shake (I like Myofusion Protein from Gaspari) for breakfast and lunch and then go buy the Cliff brand mini bars that also only have 100 calories each, you’ll get a lot more protein and only a 100 – 150 more calories (depending on how you make it). This is a far more sound program and WAY more cheaper than the cookie diet. Try it and see for yourself.
